Special Issue “Coordination and Collaboration Technologies”

Since 1998, the Special Track on Coordination Models, Languages and Applications at the annual ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC) is a major forum for researchers and developers in the coordination field. It deliberately takes a broad view on coordination to stimulate cross-fertilization among different disciplines. Since its beginning, it has attracted more than 100 high quality papers from different disciplines, including software engineering, intelligent systems, agent technologies, internet applications, multi-databases, and parallel and distributed computing.
This special issue contains selected contributions from the sixth edition of the Coordination Track at SAC 2003, held in Melbourne (FL, USA) from March 9th to 12th. The papers have been chosen based on their quality, and their relevance to the topic of CIS as well. All of them have been extended and thoroughly revised based on the comments of several independent reviewers and in accordance with the aims and scope of IJCIS.
